Lore Link Lore Link

Happy third Friday of the month, everyone! Once again it is I, Tony the Communications Guy, here to welcome you to another edition of the Lore Link newsletter.

As always, before I pass this over to Mark, I’d like to thank everyone who stopped by our booth at Who’s Year Con earlier this month. It was great talking to folks, and we were given some fantastic suggestions for some features that we’re starting to put some thought and work into. As Mark mentions below, we are going to be at Mad Con in about a month, and we’re hoping to have some more good conversations with you all up there, as well!

Speaking of Mark, let’s go ahead and turn this over to him.

And hello all! Mark Della-Croce, Product Lead of Lore Link, comfortably back at home again. There has been so much going on these past weeks, with even more to come, so let’s dig in!

Starting off with the freshest things as of the writing of this e-mail, Tony and I just got back from a weekend at Who’s Yer Con right here in Indianapolis. We had a great time meeting gamers and creators of all types. We were able to introduce new people to Lore Link, got to give away some neat swag, and best of all, got some great feedback from people on how they’re using Lore Link! If you weren’t able to make that convention, there’s still one last chance this year to catch Lore Link out in the wild! We’ll be at Mad Con from Oct 23rd - 25th in Fort Wayne at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. Catch us at Booth 14 in the Exhibit Hall. Stop by to chat, check out the newest version of Lore Link, and possibly collect some Lore Link swag. As a Last Con of the year special, stop by the booth and show us that you have a Lore LInk subscription and we’ll give you some cool swag! That’ll be your last chance in 2026 to catch as we go into Convention Hibernation for the Holidays!

Ironically, several of our neighbors at Mad Con are the same as they were at Who’s Yer Con. Support Local!

Back home from conventions, we are hard at work fixing issues and making sure Lore Link remains accessible, secure, and useful. While the Layout feature isn’t quite ready, updates are still coming. We’ve just released a patch that cleaned several lingering issues and keeps Lore Link up-to-date in terms of security. Hopefully, all you’ve noticed is things being a little bit smoother around the edges. If there’s an issue you see or you just have some general feedback questions or comments, use our Provide Feedback form at the top of the page. Best of all, one of the changes we made should make it a little bit easier to exactly describe what’s wrong: you can now add images, such as screenshots, to Feedback submissions!

We’ve got interesting things happening on our Twitch Streams as well! I showed off how to use Lore Link with my Gen Con pickup: Legend in the Mist (got the title right this time!). I also took time to discuss how that system uses failure and mixed success to help drive the story. That theme was continued in our Indie Creator Series with the “troubled kids with superpowers”-themed TTRPG Extra Ordinary (I’ll probably try and up this to be the edited Video rather than the Live Broadcast, if I get time) with Kodi Gonzaga. A GM-full, diceless system, it encourages players to trade complications and hardship for telling an engaging story! Mark also kicked off the spooky season with a look at the Spooky Mega Dungeon Bastion of Blasphimies from Paizo (link to come next Tuesday). Of course, as usual there was a break for video games, with Mike and I playing more of the excellent Battlemarked, enjoying the classic module feel of the game.

The classic solution to trolls. Set them (and possibly yourself) on fire!

Between now and the end of the year, we’ve got three exciting games coming up for planning and Actual Play, each run by a different team member! Mike will be taking on October with a spooky game, Tony will award us all New Achievements as we enter the dungeon with the release of the Dungeon Crawler Carl TTRPG, and I’ll be in charge of the holidays with another explosive holiday game! Tune in beginning this October, with Mike taking over several Tuesday planning sessions before leading up to the Actual Play on October 30th!

That’s a busy month ahead of us, so I should probably hand it back over to Tony, and let him wrap it up nicely!

Well, I’m not sure if “nicely” is the word I’d use, but I’m definitely going to wrap this up. Before I do, I’d like to make a call out to creators in the TTRPG space. I’m talking about everyone from publishers to streamers to bloggers to podcasters. Would you like to collaborate with us? If so, or if you’re curious as to what I’m talking about, please check out our Partner page over on the website.

As always, don’t forget about all the places you can find us other than your inbox. We have the Twitch stream, the YouTube channel, our blog, our Bluesky account, and our Discord. Thank you for reading this far! Until next month, may your dice roll true.
