You’re the GM of a new campaign, and the party has met with the King of the realm. His Highness has assigned them an objective and advised them to talk to his Minister of Finance, Lord Terhan, in order to gain the information they need. What the party doesn’t know, however, is that Lord Terhan, is planning to betray the king. The evil witch, Contessa, has cursed Lord Terhan’s wife with an illness and is blackmailing him to betray the King and preemptively eliminate the party, holding his wife’s health as ransom. One of the players incurs the ire of Lord Terhan when he accuses the Minister of caring more about money and power than his own wife.

Later on, when the party returns, the King assigns Lord Terhan to compensate the party for achieving the objective the King assigned to them. Unbeknownst to either the King or the party, the Minister has received some cursed gold from Contessa. In revenge for the comment the party member made, Lord Terhan makes sure the cursed gold goes to the player character who accused him of not caring about his wife. When the player goes to use the gold to pay for something, or even transfer it into a safe/locked chest, they’re in for a nasty surprise!

This is an excellent narrative, dear Game Master, but now you have to:

  • Keep track of the character sheets for the King, Contessa and Lord Terhan
  • Keep track of the item information for the cursed gold: which curse is attached and what it does, what triggers the curse to take action, how much gold is in the pile, whether it can be de-cursed prior to triggering
  • Know all the rules for this scenario
  • Remember which rolls and checks the party can make to see what they know/notice about the situation
  • Know whether the items in the party’s inventory may or may not have an affect on the situation

The list truly could go on here. The question is, how are you going to manage all this information? Enter Lore Link, a premium-quality RPG campaign management tool for Dungeon Masters, Game Masters, Storytellers and Keepers of all types. Lore Link offers the ability for you to establish Lore for your game in the form of Characters, Villains, Items, Locations, and Events. It helps you speed up the creation process by allowing you to create Templates and Custom Fields. Once you’ve created all of that, you can then link that Lore together for quick access, organize that Lore into Sessions or Timelines or Tag them with your own custom tags to organize them how you want. Add color to your world with maps and images, mark up your text with an WYSIWIG editor, and even add references to an online rules reference for your game.

Designed For GMs

Lore Link is designed for the hardest working player at the gaming table: The GM (or DM, Storyteller, Chronicler, Referee, or Keeper) Whatever name they are called, they’re responsible for getting the game started, keeping it started, and wrapping it up in such a way that everyone wants to come back for more. We believe that the GM should spend their time during the game interacting with their players, enjoying themselves, not stressing over stats, rules, and keeping notes. Lore Link is designed to help GMs plan out their campaign in a quick, straightforward way, and then make it easy to quickly navigate through the mountains of information they have created about their adventure.

Designed by GMs

Lore Link is designed by a team of long-term TTRPG players and GMs many of whom have been playing and running a wide variety of TTRPG games for over 20 years. That means we aren’t just designing and developing this software in a vacuum, we’re using it in our own games that we play with our friends. Real world testing means we quickly figure out what works and what doesn’t work during planning and actual play sessions.

Designed for all systems, not just one

The world of tabletop RPGs is a broad one. There’s the big named ones like D&D, Pathfinder and Call of Cthulhu, the classics like World of Darkness, Fate, and Shadowrun, and the up and coming like Blades in the Dark, Kids on Brooms, or Spire. Just because you start in one system, doesn’t mean you won’t find something new and exciting to challenge your group or change up the pace. Lore Link won’t tie you down to a particular system, but will give you the option to customize your experience to whatever system you running in your games. Or even let you change it on a campaign by campaign basis if you’re lucky enough to have multiple groups running at the same time!

Our team has experts in Web Accessibility to make sure that no matter how you access Lore Link (whether with a screen reader, large font, a phone, a tablet, keyboard or mouse) it’s just as usable for you as it is for anyone else.

Mark Della-Croce
Founder & Product Lead

Mark Della-Croce got his earliest start in the tabletop gaming world literally pick pocketing a family friend who was so deeply involved in their D&D game they would only notice the theft after the game finished. That display of rogue skills earned him a spot as a monster in their game and a t-shirt to go with it (Dungeon Urchin: Dex 18) and would stick with him throughout his life. He sees Lore Link as the natural combination of the skills he’s learned thru years in both software (application, then later game) development and his life long love of tabletop gaming. He’s seen first hand how tabletop gaming can build and grow lifelong friendships and wants to make sure that everyone, no matter who, where, or how they are playing can have that same chance.

Michael Dowden
Founder & Software Architect

Michael Dowden purchased his first computer (really, a box of TRS-80 parts) at a school auction in 1986. He built three working computers out of that box, kept the best for himself, and sold the other two at almost 300% profit. This started him on the road that has led to him earning a BS in Computer Science, a MBA in Entrepreneurship, and a history of working with over 100 companies, including five he founded. Michael is now an advisor of Andromeda Galactic Solutions, a published author, international conference speaker, a Google Developer Expert in Firebase & Web Technologies, and a Microsoft MVP in Developer Technologies.

Martine Dowden
